Firexpo 2023 – Save the date for South Africa’s leading fire exhibition – 6-8 June 2023

Firexpo made its debut on the local trade show scene in May this year, alongside stalwarts 30-year-old Securex and 13-year-old A-OSH EXPO, together with the Facilities Management Expo (now in its second year). Visitors can look forward to a repeat performance between 6 and 8 June 2023 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, where the expo will once again be co-located with its complementary sister exhibitions.

Depending on the environment, a fire can become out of control in 30 seconds or less if flammable materials and substances are in the vicinity. Within one minute smoke can fill a room. After three minutes, the temperature can reach over 300°C and will spread to other rooms within the building. When the fire has been burning for around five minutes, the heat from the source of the fire will begin to ignite the remaining combustible materials surrounding it. During the phase which follows a flashover, flames burn throughout the enclosed area. This is when the highest temperatures of the fire spread are reached.

“Giving these frightening facts, one needs to ensure that fire is detected at the first possible opportunity. By investing in a high-quality smoke/fire detection system, businesses and homes will eliminate the consequent damage and cost of an uncontrolled fire. Firexpo is the proven way to bring a large audience of prospective buyers of smoke/fire detection and suppression systems and services under one roof over a concentrated three-day period,” says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions (a division of Montgomery Group).

At the 2022 event, a combined total of 7422 visitors attended the four co-located shows, of which 83% either make or influence purchasing decisions and 71.8% of these visitors came with the intention of sourcing solutions or services.

“By taking an exhibition stand at Firexpo 2023, companies manufacturing or providing fire detection and suppression technology and services are investing in year-round brand building programme that reaches their target audiences. We have spent many years honing our marketing skills to provide exhibitors with maximum exposure within their intended market sectors. There is simply no other marketing spend that will provide you with the same type of multi-dimensional and widespread exposure as we can provide to you with a stand at Firexpo,” says Anderson.

Exhibitors not only receive massive traffic flow-through from the co-located exhibitions but are also exposed to the delegates attending the Securex Seminar Theatre, the Saiosh Health & Safety Conference, the Saiosh Seminar Theatre, the Working at Height Theatre and the Facilities Management Seminar Theatre.

“As organisations, as well as private individuals, are becoming more aware of the importance of installing fire detection and suppression measures to mitigate the effects of fire, and above all, protect human life and assets, Firexpo will provide exhibitors with a perfect platform from which to direct their offerings to a captive audience,” says Anderson.
